Sam Hiscock joins us for his views on 2024 and the route ahead in 2025:

After watching my Dad race in Super Gas for a few years, I decided that I might like to get in on the drag racing action myself. I had a great Junior Dragster test day with Andy Fensome in October 2023, and it all started from there.
Andy had a complete Junior Modified dragster for sale which we picked up in January 2024, and it went in for paint with Neil at Skid Lidz Custom Paint soon after. I’d completed my licensing runs for Junior Stock on the test day, but this new car was going to be a lot faster, and I knew there would be a lot to learn both on and off the track.
My first event was the Festival of Power and since then I have really got to grips with driving and preparing the car and myself, and learning how the class rules works, over the season in Junior Modified. I’ve enjoyed every race, finishing up 21st in the Championship. I was very happy to be awarded a Junior Dragster Rising Star cup and to now have been nominated for the SPRC Best Appearing Car Award.

Furthermore, I am looking forward to moving up to JMA in 2025 and would like to thank all of my Junior Dragster teammates and crews for welcoming me into the class and for their helpful advice. Big thanks to my great Crew Chief Mark and Neil at Skid Lidz Custom Paint for the awesome airbrushed paintwork (his metal flake paint really does pop in the Santa Pod sun!). Also to everyone at Santa Pod Raceway, Santa Pod Racers Club for everything they do to make the racing happen; commentators, event reporters and photographers for the cool shots of ‘Bob’.
See you all next year for some more fun!
Happy belated birthday wishes to you Sam, a championship winning season awaits.
