Thanks to Markus Münch from (DRU/Dragmag) for sending in this news article about AMC Dessau Cup 2024 which takes place 3rd-6th October at Zerbst Airfield, Germany. Markus writes:
"I'm going crazy, will this drag racing in Germany still be a thing? For my NOX preview I chose the words “NOX are the only race in Germany, we have nothing”… which were absolutely true. Yes, past, they were true. Not anymore. A small Gallic village, er, East German village/association is resisting. After very good discussions from the 1st AMC Dessau in Hockenheim, drag racing has another leader speaker at the NOX. Ultimately, they were convinced that they could put together the vision of a double header at the end of the season and receive the support from the individual classes and participants that such an event needs. Two more races in Germany this year. I hope this becomes a habit (although I would welcome an appointment(s) earlier in the year). We're not complaining, we're just there (DRU/Dragmag).
Who remembers the last days of Luckau, then Bechyne, there was always a struggle for participants. We need 80 vehicles to realize the event (T&T or race). Please take a look at the entry list(s) for the two races at the end of the season. Pick, pack full. If all of this had been communicated earlier, there would have been even more of these fancy dragsters and drag bikes. I hope for 2025.
