Cars in all classes with minimum weights (fixed and/or calculated) must present to the scrutineers to be weighed at the conclusion of each completed qualifying or elimination run otherwise the run will be disqualified.  During qualifying, competitors not improving on their best qualifying time for the event will not need to present for weighing. 

11.4 Page 15  

Any qualifying pass quicker than the chassis certification allows will not count as a legal qualifying run. 

A competition pass quicker than the chassis certification allows will constitute a foul and the competitor will be disqualified;  Should a competitor make 2 runs quicker than the permitted time during a meeting then he/she will be disqualified from the meeting and accrue no championship points other than signing-on points

GSR 1:14 THROTTLE 

Per class requirements, - throttle control must be manually operated by driver's foot; electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation. In certain classes, timed throttle stops are permitted that use pneumatics or electronics to modulate the throttle after initial launch. Electronic operation of the throttle is allowable where fitted as part of an OEM or OEM-type system applicable to the vehicle or engine concerned. In this circumstance the return spring requirement is waived where it is impractical to accommodate this…

GSR 10:8 NECK COLLAR/HANS TYPE DEVICE 

FIA Standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 or SFI Spec 3.3 head sock/balaclava or SFI Spec 3.3 skirted helmet mandatory whenever an FHR/HANS device or system is used.  

An SFI Spec 3.3 neck collar is recommended in all vehicles where an FHR/HANS is not mandatory

GSR 10:10 PROTECTIVE CLOTHING 

The following are minimum standards. It is highly recommended that SFI spec 3.3/20 gloves and footwear are used when SFI spec 3.2A/20 suits are required, that SFI spec 3.3/15 gloves and footwear are used when SFI spec 3.2A/15 suits are required, and that SFI spec 3.2A/5 or FIA standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 gloves and footwear are used when SFI spec 3.2A/5 or FIA standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 suits are required. 

All open bodied vehicles:

Arm restraints are mandatory and must meet SFI Spec 3.3 from 1st Jan 2026, recommended from 1st Jan 2025 

All normally aspirated factory turbocharged or factory supercharged vehicles running 10.00 (6.40) seconds or slower, jackets, trousers or suit meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/1, FIA standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 mandatory, gloves and, excluding junior dragster, footwear meeting SFI Spec 3.3/1, FIA standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 mandatory, “Factory” in this case meaning the original or superseded part number for the vehicle. 

Vehicles running 9.99 (*6.30) to 7.50 (4.50) seconds or any vehicle exceeding 135mph or with non-factory turbocharger or non-factory super charger, using nitrous oxide or burning methanol: Jacket and pants or suit meeting SFI spec 3.2A/5 or FIA standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 mandatory. 

Methanol burning supercharged or turbocharged vehicles running 9.99 (*6.39) or quicker: jacket and trousers or suit meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/15, gloves and footwear meeting SFI Spec 3.3/5 or FIA standards 8856-2000, 8856-2018 mandatory. Alternatively, a jacket and trousers or suit meeting SFI spec 3.2A/5 or FIA standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 may be worn in conjunction with full-length fireproof underwear and socks meeting SFI spec 3.3 or FIA standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018. 

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING 7.49 TO 6.00 SECONDS 

Front engine car equipped with nitrous oxide: Jacket and trousers or suit meeting SFI spec 3.2A/15, gloves and footwear meeting SFI spec 3.3/5 or FIA Standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 mandatory. 

Rear engine car equipped with nitrous oxide and/or turbocharged or supercharged: Jacket and trousers or suit meeting SFI spec 3.2A/15, gloves and footwear meeting SFI spec 3.3/5 or FIA Standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 mandatory. 

Naturally aspirated car: i.e. all others: Jacket and trousers or suit meeting SFI spec 3.2A/5, or FIA standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 and gloves and footwear meeting SFI spec 3.3/5, or FIA standard 8856-2000, 8856-2018 mandatory. 

Junior Dragster  

During Qualifying any Racer running under the class minimum index by less than 0.2 (.001-.199) seconds will automatically go to the bottom of the qualifying ladder, the run will no longer be disallowed, any run .02 and below index will activate the standard under index disqualification rules of a warning on the first instance and exclusion from the event on a second infraction. 

Drivers running under their class minimum index by less than 0.2 (.001-.199) seconds during eliminations will not be automatically disqualified, the first or worst regulation will also not apply for Racers going under index within these parameters (.001-.199. The normal break out rules will still be applied in dual break out elimination rounds. 

Any Driver exceeding 85 mph at any time during an event will be immediately excluded from that event. 

If a driver has no previous experience in Junior Dragster Racing, he or she must successfully demonstrate driving proficiency prior to competition. 

JR.1.2 

FIA engine rules now adopted  

JR 1.2 ENGINE 

All cars restricted to a maximum of one rear-mounted, one (1) or two (2) cylinder internal combustion engine. Maximum permitted engine displacement 516cm³, maximum engine weight 40kg. 

Note: FIA rules state a maximum displacement of 500cm³ but allow a 16cm³ tolerance in GSR 1.2.

JR 4.6 Roll Cage / helmet clearance.

When the driver is in the driving position, the roll cage tubing must be at least 76 mm (3 inches) in front of and give 51mm (2 inches) clearance above the helmet, excluding any padding.  Helmet bars (3/4-inch OD x .058-inch chrome moly 4130… 

ET 1.7 SUPERCHARGER, TURBOCHARGER 

Permitted on Methanol, petrol, racing-gas, diesel. See GSR: 1.12,1.13, 10.7 supercharger restraints mandatory in ET cars unless OEM Supercharger or a centrifugal type supercharger, must meet SFI standard. See GSR 1.13 

ET 10.3 DRIVER RESTRAINT SYSTEM 

Seat belt of at least three-point type mandatory in ET 111 and slower. Three-inch driver restraint system meeting SFI Spec 16.1,16.5 or FIA standard 8853/98, 8853-2016 mandatory in cars running 11.99 (*7.49) or quicker and in open body cars running 13.99 (*8.50) or quicker. All belts used in front engine supercharged or turbocharged open-body cars burning methanol must be covered with a fire-resistant covering. See GSR: 10.5, 10.5.2, 10.6. And 10.11 

SM WEIGHT BREAKS 

  • Minimum weight - Big Block, 2,300lbs 
  • Small block 2,250lbs 
  • Rover Wildcat heads, 1950lbs

  • Big block engines using production heads- normally aspirated 3.80 lbs. /cubic inch. 
  • Big block engines using raised port heads- normally aspirated 4.33 lbs. /cubic inch. 
  • Big block engines using production heads- using nitrous oxide 5.07 lbs. /cubic inch. 
  • Big Block engines using raised port heads- using nitrous oxide 5.53 lbs. /cubic inch. 
  • Small block engines-using nitrous oxide 4.84 lbs. /cubic inch. 
  • Rover V8 using nitrous oxide 4.72lbs./cubic inch 
  • All big block engines using nitrous oxide restricted to 0.600” net 
  • intake valve lift measured at zero lash (0.025” tolerance). 
  • Cars using clutch add 225 lbs.
